Overview
Although Cabe Lands is one of the smaller Eno River access points it is easily one of the most interesting. There are only about two miles of trails with a generally moderate difficulty. The trails are well-traveled and wide and the surrounding forest is open and airy. Mushrooms are so abundant that even a casual hiker can't help but notice many distinct species.
Cabe Lands' most notable landmark is the old Eno Quarry, active from 1960 to 1964 and since filled with ground water. Swimming is not prohibited although hikers are warned of submerged trees and equipment lurking underneath. On nice days the quarry is a popular local swimming hole and can be rather crowded.
